Objective
In this guide I will show you how to update Feather Wallet software on Linux.
As is usual with software projects, Feather Wallet keeps getting updates which fix the bugs and add new features. Therefore, it is important to keep the Feather Wallet software up to date. Luckily, updating Feather Wallet is quite simple using its embedded updater.
In this guide Lubuntu 23.10 x86_64 is used as the example Linux distribution.
Update
Start your Feather Wallet. A Feather Wallet that's ready for use looks like below. On the lower left side: Synchronized message. On the lower right side: A green circle symbol. In addition to these, if you have an update available the wallet interface will also notify you by the message: Update to Feather X.X.X is available

In order to begin the update process click on the Help button on the top row menu. On the drop down menu click on the Check for updates button.

On the pop-up window, if you see a message like New Feather version X.X.X is available, then that means a new update is available for Feather Wallet. If so, click on the Download button.

Wait for the update files to be downloaded.

After the download completes, make sure on the pop-up window you see the Download finished and verified message, and then click on the Install Update button.

After the update process completes, observe that you have Installation successful message, and then click on the Restart Feather button.

If you check for the updates again as you did in the beginning of this guide, you should see that Feather is up-to-date.

Lastly, after the update, you will have two .AppImage files for Feather Wallet program. One of them is the older version you had in the beginning of this guide, and the other as the newest and updated version of the wallet program. Going forward, you can delete the older AppImage version of Feather Wallet. This way, you won't be confused and start an outdated version of the wallet program in the future.

In this guide I showed you how to update Feather Wallet. For this, we used the embedded updater of Feather Wallet. I showed you how to install the newest version of Feather Wallet once it is downloaded to your computer. Lastly, I showed you how you can check if you are on the latest version of Feather Wallet.
