Objective
In this guide I will show you how to update Feather Wallet software on Windows.
As is usual with software projects, Feather Wallet keeps getting updates which fix the bugs and add new features. Therefore, it is important to keep the Feather Wallet software up to date. Luckily, updating Feather Wallet is quite simple using its embedded updater.
Update
Start the Feather Wallet software.

Feather Wallet will ask you to enter your wallet password. Type it in, and then click on the OK button.

You will see the main user interface of Feather Wallet. Here are two important visual items signaling your wallet's status:
- On the lower left side, Wallet sync XXX blocks remaining: this shows how many blocks have been added to the Monero blockchain during the time your wallet was closed and offline. Feather Wallet scans these new blocks in order to detect any incoming and outgoing funds to/from your wallet.
- On the lower right side, the updating symbol: related to the previous item, this shows you that your wallet is scanning the newer blocks. Wait for this symbol to turn into a green circle symbol.

A Feather Wallet that's ready for use looks like below. On the lower left side: Synchronized message. On the lower right side: A green circle symbol.
In order to begin the update process click on the Help button on the top row menu.

On the drop down menu click on the Check for updates button.
 |
On the pop-up window, if you see a message like New Feather version X.X.X is available, then that means a new update is available for Feather Wallet. If so, click on the Download button.

Wait for the update files to be downloaded.
 |
After the download completes, make sure on the pop-up window you see the Download finished and verified message, and then click on the Install Update button.

On the next window, make sure you see the Installer written message, and then click on the Restart Feather button.

Windows will ask you whether to execute the downloaded update file. Click on the Yes button.

On the installer wizard window, leave the Destination folder in its default settings, and then click on the Next button.

On the next window, leave the settings in their default values, and then click on the Install button.

Wait for the update process to complete.

After the update process completes, click on the Next button.

On the next window make sure the Run Feather Wallet option is selected, and then click on the Finish button.

Feather Wallet will ask you to enter your wallet password. Type it in, and the click on the OK button.

On the wallet interface, wait for the wallet status to become Synchronized and the circle symbol to become green circle. Then, click on the Help button on the top row menu.

In drop down menu click on the About button.

On the pop-up window Feather Wallet software version should be belonging to its newest version.

Lastly, in order to ensure that Feather Wallet is on its latest version, click on the Check for updates button, as you did in the beginning of this guide. On the pop-up window if you see Feather is up-to-date message, then your Feather Wallet is on its latest version.
